prophecy of death
31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Why did the disciples not remember this when Christ was being crucified?

Re: prophecy of death
The prospect of their beloved Master being cruelly killed by the leaders of the church was at such odds with His power exhibited daily that they couldn't (wouldn't) let His words do their work in their very hearts. How similar is it today, when we would contemplate the fearful events which are very near our door - rejection, persecution, imprisonment; worse. Do we also shut our ears and say, 'I won't think about it, it won't happen!?' in the face of clear prophecy?
