a false prophecy?
38 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,
I don't understand this to mean that Isaiah gave a false prophecy, but it was a revival for Hezekiah and a message to us all that if we seek the Lord He will answer our prayers.

Re: a false prophecy?
I agree. The Lord wants us to turn to Him, despite seemingly insurmountable circumstances or feelings. "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear." Is 59:1.
