A Woman Not To Teach?

1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
I find this verse very difficult to understand. It leaves a lot of room for men to control (in a bad way) and suppress their wives.Really making the husband the "boss" What about teaching Sabbath School?
