Here it is where the law for the leper was to cry: Unclean, unclean!

Lev. 13:43 "Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh; 44 He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head. 45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. 46 All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be."

Even Kings:

“The law was inflexible in its requirement. Even kings and rulers were not exempt. A monarch who was attacked by this terrible disease must yield up the scepter, and flee from society.” The Desire of Ages, p. 262.1

The leper in Luke 5:12 (which is also described in other gospels had to follow this law, but He met the greatest physician of the world)

“He is a loathsome spectacle. The disease has made frightful inroads, and his decaying body is horrible to look upon. At sight of him the people fall back in terror. They crowd upon one another in their eagerness to escape from contact with him. Some try to prevent him from approaching Jesus, but in vain." The Desire of Ages, p. 263.2

Jesus WANTS to cleanse us from the spiritual leprosy:

"In some instances of healing, Jesus did not at once grant the blessing sought. But in the case of leprosy, no sooner was the appeal made than it was granted. When we pray for earthly blessings, the answer to our prayer may be delayed, or God may give us something other than we ask, but not so when we ask for deliverance from sin. It is His will to cleanse us from sin, to make us His children, and to enable us to live a holy life.” The Desire of Ages, p. 266.2

“The work of Christ in cleansing the leper from his terrible disease is an illustration of His work in cleansing the soul from sin.” The Desire of Ages, p. 266.1

It is wonderful that Jesus helps us to overcome our sins and our faults. We must take hold of His promises to strengthen us that through His power we can stop sinning. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
